Tour Itinerary
Normal Route (15 Nights & 16 days)Day One: The Day of Arrival. A warm welcome awaits you at Tribhuwan International Airport, in Kathmandu. After initial greetings you will be transferred to the hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure depending on the time of your arrival. Overnight stay at the hotel. Day Two: Kathmandu. We start our day by visiting Pashupatinath temple, the holiest of the Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva followed by a visit to Budhanilkantha. We come back to the hotel and prepare ourselves for the pilgrimage which starts tomorrow. Overnight stay at the hotel. Day Three: Kathmandu - Kodari - Zhangmu - Nyalam (162 Kms/8-9 hours drive, 3750m above sea level) Activities: Immigration clearance/Exchange of currency/Meet Chinese guide/Change of vehicle/Entry formalities. Today we start our journey for Kailash - Mansarovar. We head for Nyalam driving on the famous Arniko Highway. We meet Tibetan representative in Nepal China Friendship Bridge and take few hours to clear the chick point, the entry formalities and proceed to Zhangmu. We clear Chinese Immigration formalities in Zhangmu and proceed to Nyalam. We check into the Guesthouse/Dormitory for our overnight stay. Day Four: Acclimatization. We stay at Nyalam for the whole day and night for acclimatization as a preventive measure against altitude sickness. On this day we carry our acclimatization training as well. Day Five: Nyalam - Saga (250 Kms/7 hours drive, 4500m above sea level) In the morning we depart for Saga. This populated town is situated on the banks of the Brahmaputra. We stay overnight at a Guesthouse/Dormitory. Day Six: Saga - Paryang (260 Kms/ 6 hours drive, 4500m above sea level) In the morning we start for Paryang. the view from here is simply breadth taking. We spend the night at a Guesthouse/Dormitory. Day Seven: Paryang - Lake Mansarovar, Chhu Gompa. (280 Kms/7 hours drive) Part circumambulation of Lake Mansarovar. This is the day we reach the point from where we get the first darshan of Mt. Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. We start the Parikrama of Lake Mansarovar to reach Chhu Gompa which is on the banks of lake Mansarovar. On the way we complete most of the circumambulation of Lake Mansarovar. We stay overnight at the Guesthouse/Dormitory. Day Eight: Chhu Gompa - Darchen (53 Kms/ 2 hours drive, 4663m above sea level) In the morning we depart for Darchen. This is a small village close to Mount Kailash. Overnight stay in a Guesthouse/Dormitory at Darchen. Mentally we prepare ourselves for the Parikrama of Mt. Kailash next day. Those who opt out for the Parikrama stay back in Darchen for two nights. Day Nine: Darchen - Darboche (8 Kms/45 minutes drive) - Deraphuk (10 Kms/ 5 hours trek, 4860m above sea level) The day of Parikrama. In the morning we drive for Darboche from where we start our trek to Deraphuk. We stay overnight at the tented camp. Day Ten: Deraphuk - Zutulphuk (22 Kms/ 9 hours trek, 4760m above sea level) In the morning we start our trek from Deraphuk to Zutulphuk. We trek through Dolama-La Pass which is at an altitude of 5600m (18600ft), the highest point in course of our journey. This is the most challenging day for the pilgrims. Therefore, all pilgrims must be ready mentally and physically to face the challenge. We stay overnight at Zutulphuk at the tented camp. Day Eleven: Zutulphuk - Lake Mansarovar, Horaa-Qui. (38 Kms/5hours drive) In the morning we start our trek from Zutulphuk to the ending point which is 13 kms and from the ending point to Lake Mansarovar which is 25 Kms/ 2 hours drive. We stay overnight at a Guesthouse/Dormitory. Day Twelve: Lake Mansarovar - Paryang (250 Kms/6 hours drive) In the morning we begin our journey from Lake Mansarovar to Paryang. We check into a Guesthouse/Dormitory for our overnight stay. Day Thirteen: Paryang - Saga (255 Kms/6 hours drive, 4600m above sea level) In to morning we continue our journey from Paryang to Saga and check into a Guesthouse/Dormitory for our overnight stay. Day Fourteen: Saga - Nyalam (250 Kms/7 hours drive, 3750m above sea level) In the morning we start our drive from Saga to Nyalam. We check into a Guesthouse/Dormitory for our overnight stay. Day Fifteen: Nyalam - Zhang-Mu - Kodari - Kathmandu (33 Kms/ 2 hours drive, 123 Kms/5 hours drive) We follow the same routine in the morning from Nyalam for our return to Kathmandu after completing the necessary formalities in Zhang-Mu and Kodari. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu. Day Sixteen: Departure from Tribhuwan International Airport. We proceed to the airport at the scheduled time to catch your flight back home. |
